Thematic Tracks

PHAB aims to bring to together plant health and agricultural stakeholders from all sectors and across the globe to discuss threats to plant health, plant health practices and innovations, as well as the future of food

Description:
Plant pests and diseases, invasive species, poor soil health and water scarcity are increasingly having negative effects on plant health and the environment. Global drivers such as climate change, global trade and an increasing world population mean that new approaches to monitoring and managing risk are needed. This track is an opportunity for plant and environmental scientists, biologists and modellers to showcase their latest findings on current and future threats to plant health and early detection.

Description:
Plant health is not in a vacuum. Pesticides can have an impact on human health, trade as well as the environment. As more people need to be fed, food safety, food standards and traceability are becoming increasingly important. This track is an opportunity for food scientists to raise awareness of major future issues, regulators to propose sanitary and phytosanitary measures, and the private sector to showcase how it is working to overcome these challenges.
