The Hague is located in the west of the Netherlands and is easily accessible from various directions by plane, train, bus or car.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the main international airport in The Netherlands, operating flights from more than 350 destinations worldwide. The airport is located south of Amsterdam, about 44 kilometres from The Hague.

There are quick and easy train connections directly from the airport arrival terminal – within 30 minutes you can go straight into the centre of The Hague.

Tickets can be purchased in the arrival halls, then take the escalators or elevator down one level, to the platforms.

Taxis are available outside departure and arrival halls, simply follow the signs to reach the official taxi stands. Taxis run by the meter can be paid with credit cards, and drivers will issue a printed receipt.

The Rotterdam The Hague Airport is a smaller airport serving flights to and from circa 40 European destinations. The airport is located about 26 kilometres from the city centre of The Hague.

Public transport will be the easiest option to get to and from the airport. You’ll get on Bus Line 33 and then switch to the metro rail line at station Meijersplein. The trip will take you around 45 minutes.

Taxis are available, the taxi stand is located directly in front of the entrance/exit of the airport terminal.

Another regional airport serving mainly budget airlines to and from European destinations is the Eindhoven Airport. Travelling from the airport to The Hague will take approximately 2 hours by public transport.

Public Transport

The Hague is a compact city with an excellent public transport system consisting of bus, metro and tramlines. The main operator of the bus, tram and the RandstadRail (covering the wider region) is HTM.

The Conference venue, World Forum, lies within walking distance from various tram stops.

• From the Central Station area, take tram line 1 (direction Scheveningen Noord) and get off at the station ‘’World Forum’’.
• From The Hague HS direction, take tram line 16 (direction Statenkwartier) and hop off at the ‘’Statenplein’’ stop.

Tickets

Paying for all public transport tickets in the Netherland goes via the OV-chipcard.

You can buy single-use OV-chipcards (single rides day tickets, 3-day tickets) or buy a plastic OV-card that you can charge an amount of money or a travel product onto.

For every journey, you’ll need to check in and check out with your card when getting on and off.

Single tickets can be bought inside the tram or bus, and you can find tickets points at train stations, HTM service points, supermarkets & kiosks.

Walking & Cycling

The Hague is easily crossed by foot, most of the main sights are within walking distance.
